The
“word” (שָּׂטָן) most simply understood
in the English means adversary, and is connected with the verb (לְשָׂטָ֖ן), which again simply means to oppose.
We
see this context clearly within the story of Bala’am the sorcerer, who was
contracted by the Kings of Moab and Midyan for his services to curse the armies
of the Sons of Jacobs. (I.e. His talking donkey as described in
Numbers 22).
As we remember Bala’am was blind and stubborn, until the Messenger of The Eternal said: “I have come here to oppose (לְשָׂטָ֔ן) you because your path is reckless before me.”
As we remember Bala’am was blind and stubborn, until the Messenger of The Eternal said: “I have come here to oppose (לְשָׂטָ֔ן) you because your path is reckless before me.”
אָנֹכִי֙ יָצָ֣אתִי לְשָׂטָ֔ן כִּֽי־יָרַ֥ט הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ לְנֶגְדִּֽי:
As
well, although many Rabbi’s tend to teach that within “a” Hebrew text there
also exists proof of a 1st person, personal name for an entity also
known as “Satan”, telling us that this is signified by adding the prefix (ה) - “the”, thus, forming “the Satan”,
they point out Job 1:6 where it states: that together with
others “Satan (הְשָׂטָ֔ן) also came among them”: Personally I have needed more proof
than just that, and in the other direction there is more proof of this word
being used ONLY as a word to depict people, and or otherworldly entities
who are “evil or evil ones”, etc.
Furthermore,
do not Christians also have Yehshua himself, who was Hebrew and spoke
Hebrew, making mention of the Pharisees and Scribes of Judah being from the
“lineage of Ha’satan” = “From the evil ones”? Also, didn’t he
tell them that they were of the “council or synagogue of evil” by the use of
this same word and context?
Moreover,
if this was the rule in Hebrew to formulate a 1st person proper name,
then would we not see the same Messengers of The Eternal telling Moshe to express The
Eternal’s name in the 1st person by voicing “Ha’Aheyeh?” Thus, that
list goes on and on throughout all texts, so obviously that is not the rule.
Therefore, I will continue to teach that this in no way is a 1st
person proper name for any single evil entity.

The enemy or enemies has & does go under many different names... because first and for most he is the father of ALL lies... as stated by YAHUSHA. In Hebrew wasn't he known as ABBADON..?
